REPORT OF A COURTESY VISIT TO HIGH CHIEF PRINCE WELI WOSU, FEDERAL COMMISSIONER, NIGERIAN CHRISTIAN PILGRIM COMMISSION (NCPC)…
On 10 October 2026, Rev. Dr. Austin Ifeanyi Epunam (JP), popularly known as Atu-Nnewi, Founder of Sweet Home Africa Humanitarian Foundation (SHAHF) and Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Ambassador at the Presidency, Nigeria, alongside his team, paid a surprise courtesy visit to High Chief Prince Weli Wosu at his official residence in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
High Chief Prince Weli Wosu is the current Federal Commissioner representing the South-South geopolitical zone at the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), covering Delta, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Rivers, Bayelsa and Edo States. He was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in January 2024 as a member of the nine-member board of the Commission under the Presidency.
During the visit, discussions centred on important national issues, particularly matters affecting the Christian faith and the welfare of Christian communities in Nigeria.
A key issue raised was the need for wealthy individuals, corporate organisations and the private sector to support the sponsorship of less-privileged Christian faithful to participate in the 2026 Holy Land pilgrimage exercise. The appeal emphasised the importance of collective responsibility, compassion and ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent deserving Christians from benefiting from the spiritual experience of pilgrimage.
The visit also provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships and explore areas of mutual interest in humanitarian service, Christian welfare and national development.
In attendance was the SHAHF South-South Coordinator, Amb. EKJ Obisike, who joined Rev. Dr. Austin Epunam in presenting the Sweet Home Africa Magazine, 2026 Edition, to High Chief Prince Weli Wosu.
The courtesy visit reaffirmed Sweet Home Africa Humanitarian Foundation’s commitment to humanitarian service, Christian welfare and the promotion of a society where individuals and organisations work together to uplift the less privileged.
